Watertown's John Bowron and Brady Wilson hit back-to-back doubles in the top of the 10th inning Thursday night as the Oneonta Outlaws fell, 8-6, in a New York Collegiate Baseball League game at Damaschke Field.

The game, which drew an announced crowd of 661 fans, went into an extra inning after Wizards reliever Shae Simmons struck out Oneonta's James Young swinging with the bases loaded and two out in the bottom of the ninth.

Simmons earned the pitching victory when the Outlaws (2-3) stranded Oneonta High graduates Lance Ratchford and Jeff Wiltsie at second and first, respectively, in the 10th. Simmons retired the side on strikeouts, including Derrick Osteen looking to end it.

Simmons struck out seven and walked three in three innings. He allowed one hit _ a two-out single to center by Ratchford in the 10th that Wiltsie followed with a walk.

Left fielder Ratchford finished 1-for-5 with a run and right fielder Wiltsie went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and a run for the Outlaws, who received one stolen base from each.

Oneonta blew a 4-0 lead by allowing four runs in the seventh. After going ahead, 6-4, in the bottom of that inning, the Outlaws gave up two runs in the eighth before each team went scoreless in the ninth.

Johnny Thomas singled to center off of losing pitcher Heath Storey to open the 10th. Following a strikeout, Bowron doubled to left to set up a two-run double to right by Wilson for the final margin.

Storey walked three, struck out one and allowed two earned runs on three hits in 2 1/3 innings of relief.

Oneonta starter Evan Scott shut out the Wizards (3-2) through six innings, but he ended up with a no-decision when they tagged reliever Daniel Marrs for four earned runs in the seventh to tie it. Marrs got two outs before Brian Denneny relieved.

Watertown failed to score against Denneny in the seventh, but he gave up an RBI groundout to Bowron and an RBI single to Wilson after walking his first two batters in the eighth. Both moved into scoring position on a sacrifice bunt by Zach Dascenzo.

Each team finished with 10 hits and stranded 10 runners.

Catcher Tom Wilson doubled twice, drove in a run and scored for the Outlaws, who visit Doubleday Field in Cooperstown to play the Cooperstown Hawkeyes at 5 p.m. today.
