Oneonta Outlaws Player Signing #15: Kyle Bartlett - Freshman - Left-Handed Pitcher - Hudson Valley Community College - 5’9 180 Ib - Kinderhook, NY

The long standing tradition of the ‘Valley Boys’ coming to Oneonta for the summer season is continuing in full force this year. The next star from Hudson Valley Community College to join the ‘Laws is none other than freshman left-handed pitcher Kyle Bartlett. The Kinderhook, NY native has made four appearances out of the bullpen for the Vikings this spring posting a 1.80 ERA across 5 innings of work. He made his collegiate debut with a 2 BB:2 SO 6th inning in a 10-6 victory vs Massasoit Community College at the RussMatt Invitational on March 16th. Then he turned around and threw the final two innings, allowing just 1 run, in a 9-3 win against Waubonsee Community College just three days later (3/19). Since returning north from Florida, he has worked only 2 innings (1.0 IP vs Cayuga Community College on 3/27 & 1.0 IP vs Mohawk Valley Community College on 4/12).

Bartlett chose Hudson Valley because it was close to home and had exactly what he was looking for with the balance of education and athletics. In the classroom, Bartlett is pursuing a degree in business administration. But in regard to the product of baseball and his experience thus far he said, “it’s been a great experience so far with a lot of winning on the field.”

The Ichabod Crane grad does have experience playing summer collegiate baseball as he spent 2024 with the Frozen Ropes Outlaws (Albany, NY). He posted a 1.70 ERA in 17 innings on the mound and a .364 batting average through 25 games at the dish. Kyle will be just a pitcher-only for Oneonta this summer, but he is a heck of a player on both sides of the ball.

Bartlett is a high-leverage lockdown arm who brings his best stuff early in counts to work ahead. He possesses a big-time fastball with rock solid vision of the corner of the zone, regularly getting hitters practically swinging out of their shoes chasing it. His off-speed really sets him over the top, as it’s where he really forces contact on the ground and drives his outs.

Look for Bartlett to get an early advantage on hitters in the Eastern Division all summer, just like Outlaws proud partner Advantage Maytag can give you a huge advantage on home appliances.

Welcome to Oneonta Kyle! #rolllaws #2025signing
