Oneonta Outlaws Player Signing #18: Jayden Kennedy - Sophomore - Third Basemen/First Basemen - Hudson Valley Community College - 5’11 220 - East Patchogue, NY

Spent two years raking and spinning web gems for the Vikings, and now he comes to Oneonta to show off his stellar skill-set to Outlaws faithful. Sophomore 3B/1B Jayden Kennedy continues to seek a home to continue his collegiate education and playing career, and how can you not want a guy who’s been so so good over the last two years? In his freshman season for HVCC last spring (2024), the East Patchogue, NY native, played in 22 games, hit .347 (17/49), with 1 HR, 12 RBI, 6 BB, and 7 SO. He has followed it up here in 2025 across 24 games with a .224 average (13/58), 2 HR, 15 RBI, 22 BB, and 17 SO. Kennedy has had four multi-hit games for the Vikes this spring, including a monstrous 3/3 with 3 R, 3 RBI, and 2 BB day in a 18-0 win against Mohawk Valley Community College on Thursday, April 10th.

As Hudson Valley prepares for their huge final four showdown with #3 Herkimer in Auburn this afternoon, Kennedy sure has a lot to be proud of over the last couple seasons. Coming out of high school he chose HVCC because he didn’t have a ton of offers, and it seemed like the best spot in which he could’ve gone. Kennedy is pursuing a degree in physical education and says there’s nothing he would’ve done differently and is proud with the choice he made as it’s been extremely fun and rewarding to go to work everyday with the guys around him.

He has a winning pedigree and has found a way to have success wherever he’s gone, including in his summer season last year. In the Blue Chip Collegiate League, Jayden was able to put together a .410 average and showed off his gap-to-gap hitting and power to all fields. Hitting is what he regards as the biggest strength of his game.
