Player Signing #19: Jameson Balich
5/19/2025by Colby Smith

Oneonta Outlaws 2025 Player Signing #19 - Jameson Balich - Freshman - Hudson Valley Community College - 6’2 215 Ib - Chatham, NY

An NJCAA Region 3 player of the year nod, a Mountain Valley Conference player of the year nod, a first-team all-region selection, and a first-team all-conference choosing - that’s the kind of spring Jameson Balich had. And believe it or not he’s coming to Oneonta this summer!

As a freshman for the Hudson Valley Vikings, Balich finished the year with a .492 average (58/118), with 15 doubles, 2 triples, and finished tied for the team lead with 7 long balls. He also walked 34 times, struck out just 12 times, and was hit 6 times, with all of this in just 41 games. Balich had 5 3-hit games and 15 2-hit games, leaving him with the most multi-hit games in the country (20).

Balich reached base at least once in 40 of 41 games, with the only exception being the Friday 5/16 8-7 loss to Finger Lakes in the double elimination Region 3 East Division Tourney. He edged out Logan Norman as the team RBI leader in the final week, finishing his first collegiate season with 46 knocked in.

Jameson, an Individual Studies major, is sure to go on to have a remarkable collegiate career, but for now he’s set on coming and enjoying a summer season for the Laws. “I decided to play summer ball in Oneonta after Coach Keaton reached out to me,” Balich stated. “And after talking to all of my teammates who have played there I knew it would be the perfect spot.”

In 2024, Balich played with the ENY Blackhawks which is a travel summer league, but surely nothing like the competition he will see in the PGCBL. “I am most excited about experiencing a new level of competition and meeting new teammates,” he said with ease.

Balich is a solid teammate and someone who can keep a positive mindset at all times. All his Vikings teammates love sharing the field with him, just as the 2025 Outlaws are sure to as well.

Balich will be hitting the road with the Outlaws all summer long, and all team travel is courtesy of partner Hale Transportation. Contact them for all your bussing needs.
